Thief and Thief 2 Were among the easiest and best games to mode. BUT now everyone just moves on!!!!! why????

Thief is an amazing game, but it's not all that easy to modify compared to games with scripting languages or open source code. Dromed was considered pretty awful compared to UnrealEd and the like, too. Definitely an acquired taste.

To the anonymous poster, the Thief games actually did have pretty good physics for their time.

70% of modders is just currious and want to mod, but lack motivation (newbs), so they dropp of.

The rest of the 30% kan be divided into 2 groups. Those who stick with the Game, or Series, or genres, and those who are "only the new stuff". Very few actuall manages to create a full scale mod.

I have been dealing with C&C (still does, bit it is on/off between work, school and my super 3D Engine). And it have become quiet there too. And alot of mods that have started have been ... dropped.

Mod community is very unstable place, but some of the best places to start a future in Game creation...

Can say one thing. The biggest problem is actually the lack of modelers and skinner (there is plenty actually, but not in modding). This often create problems of creating content, and search for errors in models and often leads to the mod is dropped.
