Yeah, school started and I've been running around trying to figure out my life, which is currently defined by waiting to hear back definitively for this internship program with teh governmentz. It's a government program, so it's subject to the glories of the bureaucratic process, ie, I get non-answers because they're still waiting on getting their funding approved.
But- If I get it, I'm good to go for the rest of my life (basically), but if I don't I'm going to go a different route, which would probably involve study abroad in China to learn Chinese, and then try to work for the State Department (or one of those other government organizations that really really wants people who can speak Chinese). I'm currently taking Chinese I, and it's a mindfuck to be sure, but in an enjoyable way. Plus Chinese people are pretty, um... adorable. Not gonna lie...
Incidentally, if I get the position, I'm probably going to have to go through a crash course in programming, so you might actually see me on the programming side of Gamedev.net. Try not to freak out.
As a parting gift of sorts (very little gamedev activity since my last entry), here's some concept art I threw together. I call it "Spaceship Getting Blown in Half with a Laser"
